I have a Windows 2003 server, some clients running Windows 2000 and one
client running XP SP2, all in a workgroup.
On the server, there is a share with full access for Everyone.
When I try to access this share from the client running Windows XP, I
get a login prompt where I must enter a valid User/Pass combination to
get access to the share (the share with full rights for everyone!).
On the 2000 machines everything works dirrectly - no authentification
is required and I can access the folder right away. That probably means
that the server has the right configuration, all the policies are set
OK ((allows Everyone to access the network etc.) ) and so on...
I desperately need to make this share available without that login
prompt.
I have found another post on this subject (
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...+everyone+login&rnum=7&hl=en#291a85e23bea2db4
) tried everything from there but still no change.
Any advice ? What policied do I need to set / change on the XP client?
Thanks in advance.
