accessing my work mail

I recently purchased a dell system with windows xp. I
was using a toshiba laptop. with the laptop, i was able
to access my school mail from home. the xp will not
allow me to access it now. my husband's version of xp
will allow access as well. any ideas?

It has more features - one of them being remote access, ergo it would make
sense that the version of XP she's using now is Home.
