My harddrive was corrupted to some extent from my own
impatientence and now i can't boot to windows (normal or
safe mode). However, in preparing to reformat and
reinstall windows, I slaved my harddrive to a friends and
managed to copy most of the data i wanted to save.
Unfortunately, I could not access the My Documents
folders. I would go within the documents and settings
directory, and then when clicking on the subdirectory I
would get access denied. When windows worked, I had set
it up for an administrator password and a login password,
and I have those, but i dont know how to get to a password
prompt. I'd really like to get that data somehow, so if
anyone has a suggestion, i'd appreciate it. Thanks.
My computer is a Dell Dimension 8200, Windows XP
Professional.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
