Accessing Files

I was forced to re-install XP Pro due to a registry corrupt file that could
not be fixed.
The new install was on a second HD and by and large seems to be functioning
ok. My problem is that I cannot access files that were on the first drive.
The files and folders are visible when I show the directory listing, but when
I attempt to bring them up to view (*.txt, *.jpg, etc.) the contents I get an
"access denied" response. I am the the only user of this PC so I would assume
that I have administrator privileges. Suggestions as to how to circumvent
this problem would be greatfully
apprciated...............Thanks..............CinciDave
