Accessing Files from a Home Drive

I have very little experience with XP Home. Presently I removed a drive
from a laptop with Home. When I tried to access the files from the drive
installed into another computer as slave, the files in My Document are
not accessible. Assuming that the drive is not bootable in the laptop
(which would allow me to remove permissions), how can I access the
files? Can I get to them with BartPE or a Linux live CD?

While you can certainly get the files using a Bart's PE or Linux, it's much
easier to simply take ownership of them.

Taking ownership is a much easier solution. Read here:

Problem solved, Malke and Ken. Thanks for the links. Are there any detrimental
effects to taking ownership, other than the original owner does not have the
same rights as before?

You have to find something else to be aggravated about. Don't worry, it'll
happen. ;-)
