accessing a database on a Win98 from a xp machine over a router

Hi,

I encountered a strange problem:
It involves 2 computers, networked via a router so they both have internet
access and everything works fine except for opening a Access database on the
other computer.
When I try to open this file, an error message appears in which it says that
this file is outside the intranet or on a non-trusted site.
Is this a setting in on the router?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

make sure windows firewall on the xp machine isnt set on your connection to
the router as it wont allow access to files properly.

Hi Carl,

The problem was not a firewall - it was not activated.
Adding the unc name from the 'server' into the trusted IE zone solved the
problem.
