Good day all,

I just bought a second hand pc for my daughter and it's a win2000. We also
have a home network (all win XP). When I set the folder My Documents as a
shered folder on the win2000 pc, the other users (ie me) from my pc need to
type a user name and password to access it. But I didn't set a password on
my daughter's pc. Why is that and how can I get access to it?

regards

On the Win2k machine machine create new user accounts with user names and
passwords that exactly match the user names and passwords use to log onto
the XP machines. You do not need to log onto the Win2k machine with a
matching account - just create it.

Thanks Doug

I did create a new user account. Since it was for my daughter, I assumed I
could avoid the password thing on the W2k machine. But as soon as a put the
password in, I am able to go into her drive.

Anyway... it works... just with a password.
