Access to desktop

Could someone help on fix for my Window XP Professional ,i cant access any icons on my desktop like My computer ,internet explore,documents,contrl panel,I cant login to any website because when i double click on the internet explore it wont let me access the internet.Could someone have a fix for me on how i should fix this please!!!Thank you!!
