Access Switchboard and Importing Data from Excel

I have created a switchboard and made it the default, unfortunately, it won't
open automatically as in previous versions. You have to click on the
switchboard item for the popup box to appear. Is there to make it open
automatically as in previous versions.

Also in Access 2003, I do not have the option of changing data type when
importing from Excel files. Any way around these problems?
 
Hi,
to have a form open at startup you need to specify so in the startup
properties of the db. Go to tools--startup...specify the switchboard form to
be opened as the first form.
