I heard a rumor that Microsoft will stop supporting Access in the near
future. Is this just a rumor, or is Microsoft replacing Access with another
software?

I heard a rumor that Microsoft will stop supporting Access in the near
future.

Near future? Don't hold your breath. The current version of Access will
receive mainstream support through December 31, 2008, and extended support
through December 31, 2013. Microsoft has already stopped mainstream support
on older versions, such as Access 2000, but will continue extended support
on Access 2000 through June 30, 2009.

The closest expiration is with XP. Microsoft will stop the mainstream
support phase of Microsoft Office XP June 30, 2006, but extended support
will continue through June 30, 2011.

Microsoft is hard at work on the next version of Access, which will replace
Microsoft Office Access 2003, but not until late this year -- at the
