Access Rights problems under XP Pro

Have recently been migrating workstations from NT4 to XP-
Pro. Some machines require additional apps added on top
of our basic XP configd image. However a number of these
(inlcuding Sophos on all machines) have been giving us
problems with security-related symptoms...
For example, Sophos A-Virus auto-update keeps prompting
users twice for logon credentials (but clicking Cancel
allows it to continue successfully!). Other apps are
failing in strange ways, but seem to work OK when Adminr.
is logged on .. hence my suspicion that it's a
security/access related problem.
Can anyone cast any light on this? Any suggestions at all?
Thanks.

Is Sophos that you installed on Windows XP complient with WindowsXP? The
installation that worked with NT won't work with XP. You will need to get
new installation...

I've checked with SOPHOS Tech.Support - they confirm
their product is good for NT and XP, in fact we are
already running same SOPHOS on our own XP laptops in IT
Dept without problem ... the error is only happening on
our Desktop PCs which have been imaged with our configd
ver Win XP ... it seems that some access/security rights
need to be either disabled or enabled ....

Any thoughts or suggestions?
