access prohibited to floppy and optical drives

I started receiving a Restriction Warning, "Administrator has prohibited
access to CD/DVD ROM drives." My Computer shows shows a red circle/slash thru
each of my optical drive as well as thru the floppy drive and a virtual drive
created by GameDrive. This is on a home computer where I have all admin
rights.

are you using Tweak ui?

if not download from here:

http://download.microsoft.com/downl...a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

once installed and running select from the menu My Computer open the
node to display Drives, Special Folders & AutoPlay.

select the Drive option, this option will display all your drives and
also drive that you dont have, place a tick in all the drives listed
select apply then reboot your system

let me know if this solves your problem

Thanks for the help. I'll keep it in mind if the problem reoccurs. I
reformated the hard drive and reinstalled everything a few days after posting
this. Obviously not the preferred solution.
