Access Permissions Error 3173

I need BASIC information. I have just networked a #2 computer with my #1
computer, that has my Access database. I could access MS Access from the 2nd
computer, but could not view any changes made by the #1 computer. I had not
set up any permissions. I attempted to make a workgroup, but had no
experience and had not entered any passwords but I have done something wrong
because now everytime I try to open an Access file on my #2 computer, even a
new one, I get the following error: "Could not open table 'MSysAccounts' in
the workgroup information file. (Error 3173). "
I have tried searching for Error 3173 and have gotten nothing helpful. I
tried "repairing" my Office 2003, and then uninstalling it and re-installing
it. Nothing has helped.
I have tried copying the System.mdw file from Computer #1 into the folder
where my Access program file sits... nothing.
Can anyone help me?

Go to the #2 computer, find all files named system.mdw, and rename them
to something else (system.mdw-OLD oe whatever). Then start Access
again. I believe (but am not absolutely 100% certain) that this will
create a new system.mdw.

HTH,

YOU ARE SERIOUSLY MESSING UP HERE.

THIS IS PROBABLY NOT POSSIBLE EVEN IF YOU KNEW WHAT YOU
WERE DOING.

YOUR BREAKING THE LAW, UNLESS YOU HAVE TWO LICENSES.

CLICK FOLDER PROPERTIES AND MAKE THE FILE ACCESSIBLE TO
BOTH USERS IN THE WORKGROUP.

LOOK FOR THE LOCATION OF THE DATABASE CONNECTION STRING,
MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE COMMON FOLDER. RETURN THE FILE TO
ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES.

True!

WERE DOING.

Nonsense. Thousands of Access sytems are successfully networked all
over the world.

YOUR BREAKING THE LAW, UNLESS YOU HAVE TWO LICENSES.

Not a bad point, but irrelevent to this newgroup. She asked a technical
question, not a licencing one.

CLICK FOLDER PROPERTIES AND MAKE THE FILE ACCESSIBLE TO
BOTH USERS IN THE WORKGROUP.

MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE COMMON FOLDER. RETURN THE FILE TO
ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES.

Neither of those suggestions has any chance of fixing her error: "Could
not open table 'MSysAccounts' in the workgroup information file. (Error
3173)."
