Access is denied

Dear NG:

Running WinXP Pro SP 2
Freshly reformatted installation.
One user w/administrator rights.

Everything is running perfectly and I'd like to keep it that way.
I've set a System Restore Point.
I'm attempting to copy or move this particular restore points files to a
safe harbor so that they are not over written.
I get the following error message when I try to open the System Volume
Information folder:
C:\System Volume Information is not accessible. Access is denied.

1. Is my attempt to save System Restore Point files for use at a later date
feasible?
2. Is there a valid explanation for the "Access denied" error if I have full
administrative rights?

Thanks in advance for any assistance with my endeavor.

Hi Kevin

1. You can't 'save' System Restore checkpoints for later use.
2. If you did gain access to the SVI folder, you can't do much in there,
otherwise System Restore probably won't work properly.

Thanks Will Denny and Carey Frisch for your responses.

Perhaps the ability to permanantly save certain System Resore Points could
be added in the future.

Thanks again,

Kevin

Alternatively, You can backup the system when the system runs fine. Please
