got the following while trying to install rollup for sp4 for win 2000 pro.

this is just one of many issues i'm trying too address on my home computer.
anyone any thoughts.

Well, assuming the account SMEDLEY\Administrator is still
a member of the Administrators group then you may need
to check for malware inhabiting the machine (which actually
is a pretty good idea before trying to install the rollup anyway)

Your first assumption would be correct.
the machine was pronounced free of malware and other nasties by both
microsoft and symantec.(not my first go-around at this rodeo) i'm thinking
this stems from a 1202 error i'm receiving in event viewer about propagating
security settings, but according to the microsoft data base, this only occurs
