access denied using recovery console

I fried a motherboard and can't get xp home to boot with
the new board. safe mode doesn't work it just reboots
itself. i have loaded the recovery console to try and
copy my documents and setting directory but i get the
message access is denied. i have put the drive in
anouther xp system and get farther along but i can not
open the user profile i need to. i have tried duplicating
the old user name and password and loging on as
administrator and get same access denied message.

help please,,, anybody,

Putting the drive in the other computer is the right way to go. You will
need to take ownership of your documents. Check your Help & Support for
"take ownership" instructions. You will obviously need to format and
clean install Windows on the machine with the new motherboard.
