access denied to my documents after rebuild/upgrade SP2

Can somebody please advise how to fix this problem?
I am so frustrated that I would be pulling my hair out by now
- if I had any left :)

Access Denied after reinstalling XP Home SP2.

I need to access the security tab on an Iomega firewire 120 GB
external drive to regain ownership to my documents folder which, due
to its size, I store on this drive.

My C drive went down the tubes. I moved my D drive to become my new C
drive. What was my external G drive is now my D drive. I cannot get
to the security tab to claim back ownership of my documents except in
safe mode. If I boot in safe mode windows is not aware that it has an
external drive. With XP Home SP2 is there any other way to access the
security tab without booting into safe mode? Or is there anyway I can
have access to an external drive whilst in safe mode?

Thank you for the suggestions unfortunately that does not answer the
question I asked."If I boot in safe mode windows is not aware that it
has an external drive. With XP Home SP2 is there any other way to
access the security tab without booting into safe mode? Or is there
anyway I can have access to an external drive whilst in safe mode? "

Do you have any constructive suggestions? Thanks

Sorry, I didn't realize the link wasn't any good. I downloaded the file a
while back and it gives you the security tab in XP Home without booting in
safe mode. It does make things simpler.

Ricky "You are a STAR" You are the only person on the internet who has
had an answer to this problem. I used my ftp client to search the web
for this NT file. Found two ftp servers holding this file.
Unauthorized to access first server but managed to obtain file from
the second server. Now to set a system restore point. Install and pray
it works ok with SP2. Big thank you Ricky. :)

You're welcome, I hope it works for you. I have SP2 and have it installed.
It seems to work fine.

Ricky - Sorry to say that this solution did not work on sp2. It asked
for a full NT service pack to run the exe file needed - but I still
think you are a great guy for trying to help. I have re-posted the
problem asking about an upgrade to xp professional this time, as I am
still left with over a GB of data on my external drive that I cannot
access. I wish this restriction with xp home had been documented
before I purchased my machine. We never do get rid of our problems in
life just exchange them for a different one. This is one problem I
would rather be without :-(
