Hello,

Since a WindowsXP crash on my laptop computer (so, more or less 6
month), I have some rights problems :

- When I store a file on the desktop, sometimes I can't load it anymore
and I get a "Access denied" message error.

- When I create a new account, I logout, and I try to log in with the
new account, I also get an "Access denied" error.

I don't see how can I fix that, because I'm administrator on that laptop
so I should have all the privileges.

How can I fix that ?

Thanks in advance !

Bruno,

Have you checked the Permissions for the user profile folder? The user
account should have Full Control over their profile folder.

No, I don't have the permissions tabs when I check properties.

I also noticed that several services can't start due to the same error
'Access Denied'.

I'm thinking that WindowsXP privileges are completely corrupted... :-/

In XP Pro, Security tab will be visible once you disable Simple File
sharing. For XP Home, boot into Safe Mode and logon as Admin.
