Hi John,
You need to check the permission on the offline files. Does the account you
logon Windows XP has "Full control" permission on the offline files? If
not, change the permission.

1. HOW TO: Use Offline Files in Windows XP

2. If multiple users use the same computer and have their home folders and
My Documents folders redirected to a network share, a user may receive an
"Access denied" error message when the user logs on or off (depending on
the "Automatically synchronize the selected items" setting).
This is a design limitation. Windows has only four slots to record which
user created the offline files. If multiple users log on to the same
computer and make offline files available, Windows may lose track of who
the offline files are for. Therefore, Windows synchronizes all offline
files. Architecture changes are required to fix this problem. It was
decided to use the workaround as outlined in the "Workaround" section.
To work around this problem:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click
Synchronize.
2. Click Setup, and then clear the check boxes for the folders that you do
not want to be synchronized.
NOTE: You must follow these steps for each user who logs on to the computer.

| I get access denied on a offline file. To workaround I must:
| 1. Get online
| 2. Access the file (I can open it while online)
| 3. Get offline
| 4. Access the file (now I can open it)
| It seems like permissions on that file are lost and must be refreshed
| (accessing the file while online). I need to do that on thousands of
files.
| Any workaround?
| Thank you
