Access Denied message while trying to open a network connection to another XP Pro machine

Hi, I have two XP Pro machines running on SP1. Both are on the same
workgroup, "MSHOME". I have NetBios over TCP/IP set. I can PING in
both directions fine. In MSHOME under Network Places both machines
appear on each other. From machine "A" I can open shared folders on
machine "B". It works great. However from Machine "B" I cannot open
shared folders on machine "A". I get the message

"\\A is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions. Access is denied."

I've run out of ideas. The help site says to grant "Incoming
connections" in Network Connections. But I don't have that option.

Thanks, in advance for any help you can offer.

Is File and Printer Sharing checked on both computers for the LAN Adapter?

Does the user logged into computer B have permission to access the share on
computer A? Right-click on the shared folder on computer A and select
Sharing and Security. Click on Permissions and see if that user is added.
If not, add the user using

COMPUTER-B-NAME\USERNAME
