i am running windows 2000. when i try to access this
certain folder it tells me access denied and when i try to
get the properties and try to change the attributes it
tells me that cannnot find the file specified. any ideas
why this might be happening? i doubt it a permissions
issue, as i have admin rights. any suggestions please?

There are folders which are off limits to even an administrator.
You can get access to the folder but you'll have to take some
extra steps to do this. A good example is the "System Volume
Information" folder. Try accessing that folder on a NTFS volume for
example.
