Folder Permission problem.

I'm having problem deleting a folder. This used to be the name of a
restricted user account, and although I successfully deleted the
account, its folder remained as an Administrator subfolder. I am logged
in as Administrator, and have ownership of the folder in question. I
also have full control permissions for this folder. I can open the
folder to reveal its subfolders and files. However, when I try to look
at the properties of these subfolders or files, I am denied access. If
I try to reset permissions on the 'parent folder', again I am denied
permission to do so for each 'child'.

Can anyone suggest whiy I am denied these permissions as the security
for this folder shows me as having full permissions? Any sensible
suggestions gratefully received.

Does the folder have any unusual characters in its name?
