access denied after word crash

M

Maureen

I was editing a Word document and Word crashed on me. Now
when I try to delete the file, I get this:
Cannot Delete <Filename>. Access Is Denied. The Source
File May Be in Use.

How do I get rid of the file?

in Windows Explorer, navigate to the location of the file that is being
a problem and delete the temporary file that starts
~$filenameofthefileIcannotopen. You will have to enable show Hidden file
under Tools, Folder Options if you can't see it.
