access database stuck in "read only"

How do I change the data base from read only to not ready only so i can make
changes?? It is a data base i created and when i took it off of the original
computer and put it onto a disk it is stuck in read only and when i go to
properties, the box for read only is clicked and greyed so i can't unclick
it. please help!

You can't do this from within Access. Instead, open Windows Explorer ("My
Computer"); navigate to the folder containing the .mdb file; right mouseclick
it and view its Properties. Uncheck the "Read Only" checkbox. It gets set when
you copy a file to a CD, and doesn't automatically get unchecked when you copy
it back to a hard disk.

It it is on a CD, then it is read only. That is the nature of a CD. You
need to copy it to a hard drive and then change the properties of the file
(right click on the file) You can't do that as long as it is on the CD.
