Access Backup Problems.

Thanks to all of you who have assisted me getting my database up and running.
Everything seems to be working out really well. So I decided to do a backup
to a floppy disk so I could keep an original copy and I got an error message
something like "Access can not read the fields". Any ideas as to what this
means? Thanks.

How did you attempt the backup? Using the File, Backup? I've seen problems
with this. Try closing the database and using Windows Explorer to copy the
database to your floppy.

Speaking of floppies, Access database files can get rather large quickly and
might not fit on a floppy. Also if you try to run Access on a database file
on a floppy, it will often corrupt the floppy disk. I teach a class where
students use floppies and it happened about once every two weeks to one of
the students. Thank goodness for USB flash drives, Zip discs, or even RW CDs.
All are a much better choice. If you do use Access from a removable storage
device, make sure that you close both the database and Access before removing
the drive or corruption can happen.
