Access 2007 runtime database not open in Windows Server 2003

Casey Wong

Hi,

I have an Access 2003 database that I used Access 2007 to package and
installed onto another pc (Windows Server 2003). The installation is fine
with the database and Access runtime installed but when I open the runtime
there is no database inside. I notice there is a lock symbol on the database
icon and there is no error message to explain why there is no database.

Any advice and suggestion is much appreciated!!

Many thanks

Best Regards
Casey

Hi Casey,
there is no point in opening the runtime - there is nothing there to see.
Runtime is not a normal version of Access where you can create tables and
forms.
To use the runtime, you install a database on the pc and it opens using the
runtime version of access. So use the runtime when you want to install and
run an existing database on a pc that doesn't have the full version of
access installed.
