Access 2007 External Data Default

Is there a way to change the "default" location when I try to get external
data?

Yes, but it does have a side effect.
In Access Options, you can set the Default Database Folder. It uses that to
save a new database if you don't specify another location, but it also uses
it to look for external data.
 
I checked mine...and it doesn't use that location to look for external data.
I wish it would!, but it doesn't...

Unless I've done it wrong...??
 
Don't know what to tell you, it works for me. Did you look at what is in the
Options?

Be aware that if you change a folder for a search, it will default to the
new path until you change it again or close Access.
