SQL Server 2000 is not supported on Vista. I've heard reports that some
people have ignored the warnings and installed it anyway, but if you do that
you're on your own, Microsoft don't support this scenario. Note that this
applies only to the PC on which SQL Server is installed, there's no problem
running a front end on Vista that connects to SQL Server 2000 on another PC.

For development and testing purposes, I'm using Virtual PC to run SQL Server
2000 within a virtual Windows Server 2003 instance on my Vista PC. Works
well for me.

If you haven't already done so, you might want to ask this question in the
ADP newsgroup. You're more likely to get an answer there from someone
familiar with ADPs, who might know about ADP-specific issues that the rest
of us wouldn't know about. I have heard that there are ADP-specific
performance issues in Access 2007, but I don't have any details.
