Could anyone, please, tell me what the deferens is and can I use both
on my motherboard (A7V8X)

There is currently only one SATA standard in usand thats 150MB/s.

The difference you may find on drives is whether or not they fully support
SATA or not. Many are just parallel drives with a SATA bridge chip and this
type will give you no performance gain over PATA. Then there are native
SATA devices, but again they may not fully support SATA features such as
tagged queuing.

The new 74GB Raptors (WD740GD) are the fastest ATA/SATA drives (almost)
available and I want one. :)
