A7V333-X USB Problem (USB_56)

Can anyone confirm that the USB_56 header on this mother board is USB
2.0? I've connected this header to my case and temp control unit
(both labeled as USB 2.0) and when I attach my USB 2.0 hard drive, it
is recognized only at USB 1.1. The drive connected to the rear USB
ports connects fine at USB 2.0.

I'm running XP1 SP1 with the latest patches. BIOS is 1004.

Thanks.

I have exactly same Mobo, and no, the spare USB headers aren't 2.0 it
seems, I connect my USB 2.0 digital card reader in the front case USB
(connected to USB_56) and I get the message 'USB 2.0 device connected to
USB 1.1 port', when I connect it to the back USB, no message, and the
digital picture download more rapidly on the back ones too. In the
manual (chapter 1 p.15) it's written that these USB_56 header are USB
2.0. I say RIP-OFF!!!

Ok, I just read elsewhere on this forum that the ports have to be USB2.0 and
most case ports aren't 2.0 compatibles, so I guest KB is right.

Are you sure? I have a cheapo Maxtop case with the front USB connected to
the header on a A7V333 and 2.0 works fine.

Assuming that the USB_56 header is USB 2.0, wouldn't the cable and
case port just be a pass through? Is there something I can look at on
the cable or case port that would indicate that it is not a USB 2.0
port?

Believe it or not, I went to the local PC shop, bought a USB port, one that you replace one of the plates on the back of
the case, plugged my card reader, and got a USB 2.0 connection; I reconnected my front case port connector, plugged the
card reader, USB 1.1; I looked at both ports, couldn't tell any visual differences, but thrust me, ports DO make the
difference between a 1.1 or 2.0 connection.
