A7M266-D with 3GB memory

I have been running my A7M266-D with a single 1GB DIMM with no
problems except for some memory thrashing with large programs. This
is a Kingston part.

I purchased two sticks of 1GB ECC/REG DIMMS and added them. These
are re-branded parts, appear to be made by Samsung. I turned on ECC
in the BIOS. My understanding is that with REG memory, you should be
able to add up to 4Gb to the board.

I’m now getting errors in the third GB. POST memory test passes, but
Memtest86 flags errors somewhere around 2.4Gb. Moving the memory
sticks around doesn’t change the errors, so the problem seems not to
be in the DIMMs. I’m able to run with 2Gb with no problem.

Has anyone installed 3GB on the A7M266-D without problem? Any
suggestion on what might be going on here?

which bios do you use? 1.005 fixes a mem over 2GB issue.

Latest is 1011.003 beta.

which memtest version do you use?
