Hello there ..hoping for feeback on this one ..I am running Windows XP
Home on a Toshiba laptop.... I can get an address from my router
( Linksys) but I cannot get to the internet.

If I
ipconfig/renew

I do get an IP address back .. 192.168.2.100

but I cannot get to the net

This happens when I use either my wireless or my ethernet
cable ....can someone offer any suggestions on troubleshooting to find
the cause?

P.S... my friend brought her laptop over and connected to my router
and she gets out to the net successfully , so I fear that it's my
computer....

Good question that I will answer when I get home to try the config
with my home router , to which I was referring ...... a bit more info
though.. I brought my laptop to my school and I was able to get on the
internet at first but then later I got kicked off and couldn't get
back on ... someone said maybe my 'drivers are cutting in and out' ...
does this sound plausible? and if so can I re-install something
without a full re-install of XP? many thanks for any advice..
