A simple Norton question about new computer....

T

Terri

A simple question I cannot find an answer for. I have two computers
and the one I am presently using has Norton which I just purchased a
couple of weeks ago. I am purchasing a new computer and want to know
if I can install the new Norton on the new computer OR do I have to
purchase a new program again...

No one from Norton seems to answer on any group, so hoped someone here
might know the answer...

Thank you!

Did the EULA state that the license was for two computers?

If you bought retail then it is for 1 computer and so you will legally
have to buy another copy however there is nothing to stop you install
it on both computers. Depends if you want to use it legally or not.

Nothing to stop you installing it, but my guess is that you won't be able to
update it via the internet, as Norton will probably have a note of a unique
registration number for that program, and won't allow a second registration.
But you will be be able to update on computer A, and I guess there is
nothing to stop you copying the updated files to computer B...

Depend on what versions. You'll have no problem installing it on two
computers if it is 2003 or earlier, but 2004 might present problems with its
activation protocol.. Many times it won't even activate properly on just
one computer.

yeah NAV2004 has been a nightmare for me as so many people have
complained about it. I just recommend AVG7 and everyone loves it. The
cheaper price and 2 years of free updates (virus definitions and major
program updates, eg to AVG8 if it is released during your 2 year
license). It is a great deal for home users :)
