Dan

I am unable to view some chm files on a computer running windowsxp pro with
servicepack2.
I downloaded a freeware program from Sysinternals called Autoruns, but I
cannot get the help files to show.
The program itself runs okay. I get the contents showing in the left pane
but in the right pane is the error message 'Page cannot be displayed. I
notice that a couple of other program chm files come up with the same error
but again some others work okay.
I have checked the KB and confirm I have all the html help files. Can't
think of anything else to try.

Appreciate any help.

Dan

Hi Dan,

See if these commands help, from Start/Run:

regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx
regsvr32 itss
regsvr32 jscript
regsvr32 /i shdocvw
regsvr32 /i mshtml

Restart windows and try accessing the Help contents (*.chm). If one or more
of the above commands fail, please post the error message.

Ramesh,

Apologies for the late reply but my newsgroup does not show my message and I
only stumbled on your reply whilst searching the whole group over the past
couple of days.
Thanks for your suggestions. All of these commands succeeded with out error
messages. No change, though.
Have checked the url you mention and will give that a try as soon as I can
find somewhere to download an older copy of hhctrl.ocx.
Odd thing though it is only a couple of programs' chm files I can't read ,
other show up okay?!?
An SP2 bug?

Appreciate your help.

Regards

Dan
