A thought......

Does this need to be something like a wiki????

As I was reading some of the post's this morning it occurred to me...... for
a subject like Search Engine submission...... when Additional good material
is added.... how can it be added to the FAQ database? Will we be able to add
additional material to an existing post or will there have to be several
posts on a given subject?

Again... just a thought.... :)

Hi Thomas A. Rowe,

At on time I started to do something like this but I got busy and never got
too far...

The database is there and all that is needed is the Questions and Answers...

The site has unlimited bandwidth so large amounts of traffic is not a
problem...

http://www.xmas-i-am.com/frontpage_tips.asp is what I started but this can
be changed...

If I can help let me know..

Chris,

Basically it is thanks for the offer, but I prefer to code my own, since I
have a certain style that I like to use. The problem I have with working
with pre-written apps, is that I have to spend time trying to understand the
author style and then attempt to convert that to mine, and it is a major
app, it is faster to just code it from scratch in my style.

My goal is to have a searchable database, that provide a solution/work
around either directly or in addition, a link to a MS KB or web site with a
more detail solution or work around.

I understand. this is one that I had to put the vbscript decoder on. it's
a very nice app, but I understand what you mean about converting stuff.
it's actually pretty cool since it's designed as a faq manager where people
can search and even submit a new question through. if someone submits a
question and an admin answers it they'll receive an email letting them know
there's an answer and includes a truncated answer in the email.

A wiki is a site where people can post articles, answers to questions,
create topics, etc. It is kind of a free form FAQ site.. most wiki software
allows for searching the site... it is really pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure you can get wiki software for free.

Here is a link to a wiki for Visual FoxPro.....
