A Question About Trusts.....

N

Nick O'Connor

Okay....

I have an NT 4.0 domian with a 2 way trust established to
a Win2k Domain.

This Win2k Domain has a trust to another Win2k Domain.

If Win2k domains can be transitive, will this apply to the
NT 4.0 domain?

In other words can a user account in the NT 4.0 domain be
given access to a file share in the 2nd of the two Windows
2k networks if the trust established between the Win2k
Domains is transitive?

Kerberos implementation is what makes the W2K transitive trusts
possible between W2K domains in a forest. Since NT4.0 can not use kerberos,
I do not believe it is possible. You need to create ntlm explicit trusts to
each W2K domain you wish to establish trusts with. --- Steve
