A problem with the WinDriver service

S

Sherif Hassan

hi everyone,
I'm new to the group, I hope you can help me in the problem that
I searched alltheweb and didn't find answer to it...
well to get to the point, my pro is this:
I have an old digital Camera (that uses USB) called Premier DC-800 it worked
well on win me and 98..
I forgot about this cam untill I found it while rearranging my stuff and
told myself why not to try it on my xp pc..and unfortunately I did..and
after setting up it's driver which is old and not made for winxp at all
...The cam didn't work, and it wasn't satisfied with only that I started to
get this message just before I log on windows "system error.....cannot
create a file when it already exists" by pressing ok everything works just
fine..but it annoyed me to see this message each time I turn on my pc...I
searched the web for a solution..but I didn't but found something mentioned
about it...that I must review the eventviewer and search for the cause of
the error, and I did and found that the problem relates to the WinDriver
service, I tried replacing the WINDRVR.SYS file in the system32/Drivers
folder but it didn't solve the problem.. so I went on the risk of
reinstalling windowsxp , and after I did there was no more annoying messages
whilst logging on..but when I reviewed the eventviewer I found out that the
error is still occuring...
and here's a summary that might help:
=========================
the eventviewer log:
----------------
Source: Service Control Manager
Type: Error EventID: 7000
Description:
The WinDriver service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

----------------------------------------------------------

btw: I uninstalled the old digital camera driver
