Intel D865GBF nework drivers and Windriver Virtual Device

Hello all,

I have new deployment of XP embedded and am unable to get the Intel
D865GBF onboard LAN drivers to install. Does anyone have any suggestion or
a component I could use to get these network drivrers going??

Also I have a strange device being detected that I cannot track down. After
boot windows finds WinDriver Virtual Device. The strange thing is that it
says "An error occurred during the installation of the device. The required
section was not found in the INF."

Please any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

If you are trying to import the INF from the Intel driver I have had success
in the past with specifying the manufacturer section manually in Component
Designer. You can do this by choosing File > Import, changing the file type
to INF, and once the INF Processing Options dialog appears choose the custom
radio button. Choose Add, click the Manufacturer Section radio button and in
the section name type Intel.NTx86. Click OK, click OK, click Start. The INF
should now import correctly.

As for the unknown device check the setupapi.log file located in the
\Windows directory to see the PnP ID of the unknown device. You can track it
down that way.

HTH,
Brad

p.s. If you have trouble with the component email me the INF and I'll make
the component and upload it to www.xpefiles.com In fact, there may be
something there already if you want to take a look.
