A particular file takes a long time to print on a laser printer

I am running PPT 2007 on Win XP SP3. The problem im having is that one of my
files takes a very long time to print on an HP laser printer even though it
prints normally on a DeskJet printer (in both full color and grayscale). The
problem is with this particular file only, other files are okay. The problem
file is 4 MB in size. Can anyone help me figure this one out?

Is it a particular page/slide that has a problem, or every page?

I'm guessing one page has some 'vector' clipart, or a very large
'bitmap/photo'. Sending this data to the laser printer can take time, as for
the printer to process this data also takes time.

Consider changing the vector/clipart to a picture. Or making the photo
contain less pixels/dots/quality

Hi TAJ,

Thanks for the response.

All the pages have the same problem. The first page will take about 2
minutes to print and after every 30-45 sec. interval the next page will print.

Also, I don't have any pictures in the presentation. All are PPT shapes.
However, I am using quite of bit of effects on them, primarily transparency,
text outlines and shadows and soft edges. Does these added effects have
anyway to do with the problem?

Transparency is probably the biggest culprit

Save a copy of your presentation

Remove the transparency

Reprint - does that do the trick?

If so that's your answer - Can you recreate the pages another way?
