"a network cable unplugged" problem

I'm running a network with 3 computers all running XP.
I've had them all networked up and running ok in the past
but recently i keep getting a "network cable unplugged"
error on my server.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the network
devices then run network wizard and it seems to work fine
until I reboot and then the problem reappears.

I am positive that the network cable is working fine
because I've tested it and I have a motherboard with an
onboard LAN if that matters.

Any help would be appreciated

what is in your event log for network errors? It sounds like flaky hardware
(network card)
