A mic plugged in shuts down pc???

I've been trying to install my webcam for sometime now. It is a Crayton
Electronics QCam 350ml.
I have installed the drivers, when I plug in the device windows cannot
recognise it or install it - it just doesn't work.
In addition - whether the device or any other sound recording device or
nothing at all is plugged in - my computer has sound recording issues:
Every time I try to test this hardware - it restarts. If I open windows
sound recorder - it restarts. ANything to do with sound recording - it
restarts.
Help!

software. suggest you re-post your question to an appropriate newsgroup.
 
Your posting in the wrong forum, this is for Microsoft access and database
program. You may want to try to contact your products manf.
