And vista
But it's obviously better for most.
Without getting in a useless diatribe and flame fest here, that statement is
a bit disingenuous. It's not best for most Frank. I've been hitting the
ng's of and on for many years now, and have heard that statement with every
version of Windows that has shipped on user's machines. Just because the
user is stuck with that particular OS, doesn't necessarily make it better.
It is, put most simply, what they are stuck with. Not that that is
necessarily a bad thing. Most users don't need more.
There ARE some however, that are power users, tweakers, etc., that need or
want more. As I have told my clients, and others forever, use what works
best for YOU, and makes you most productive. Whether that be Win whatever,
Linux, OS whatever. I have used, and supported in the past DOS, all the Win
versions from 3.1 up, OS/2(which was a kick ass OS for it's day), Solaris,
all the flavors of Mac OS's, and many Linux distros(RH, Debian, Slack,
Mandrake/Mandriva). Each and everyone of them have there strong points and
their flaws without exception.
Personally, I am warming up to Vista. I was forced to try it because my
system shipped with it. There are some quirks and problems that bug me, but
I work through, or around them, and keep on going. Yes I rag on a lot of
stuff in my blog. If there is a problem I won't hesitate to point it out.
Does it make me a hater? No. Just means that I point out something that is
wrong.
Bottom line for me is this. I WANT the stuff to have problems. That means I
can continue to put food on my family's table. If there was a perfect world,
I'd be out of business...
