Do windows users regularly harass the linux news groups. Or is this all just
in good fun. I ask; because there is a lot of it here and it gets in the way.

Yes, they do.

Don't make me laugh! I for one, would never waste my time in any open

Let's face it, Vista is much better, in every way, than anything linux
has to offer.

Alias and Ray and complete Ubuntu die hards! They eat, breathe, sleep,
Ubuntu. If there any HINT of a post that is remotely related to
Linux/Ubuntu, they chime in.

Yes they do, so don't attempt to refute what you don't know. And vista
may be better for you. It might not be so for everyone.

Windows users generally do not go there. I realize that in COLA there are
about two guys who regularly harass the Linux advocates. But in my opinion
they shouldn't be there because their activity keeps the group from dying
[of boredom] [and the group really should be allowed to die].

Careful norm, I was only referring to myself.

And vista
may be better for you. It might not be so for everyone.

But it's obviously better for most.

Not unless they're slumming.

Why do you tell people to be careful? Careful of what? Careful of
disagreeing with you? I believe your "don't make me laugh" statement was
referring only to my "yes, they do" statement, since that is the only
issue being discussed. What you do is irrelevant to whether or not ms
users troll in linux groups.

And vista

But it's obviously better for most.
That is not necessarily so obvious, or true.

Apparently it's just Norm and Frank that regularly harass each other. LOL

Yes. Comp.os.linux.advocacy in particular, and a few others as well. I've
seen about 85% wintrolls there recently.

No they're not. This could be a group about pies and they would be touting
cake.

They are like the little kid who stands in front of the TV - getting spanked
is better than no attention at all.

If not for the abuse they engender here, their own meaningless lives would
get no recognition at all.

Oh yes, you've seen wintrolls over there and you are a Linux troll over
here!

While you are waiting to fix your problem, why not install "Insert Open
Source Solution Here"

Sound familiar?

Oh yes, you've seen wintrolls over there and you are a Linux troll over

I have never initiated a thread here concerning any version of Linux. I
suggest you visit COLA and see if a similar condition exists.

I have primarily limited my comments here to attempting to assist folks in
trouble. For example - my usual response when someone is having major
issues with MS Office is to 'try OpenOffice.org until you can reconcile
the problem'. Also, when someone complains that he/she is having major
issues with vista in general, I will comment that there are other options
including major vendors who still supply xp - and by the way, there are
also major vendors who supply Linux preinstalled - and, of course, there
is always MAC.

If attempting to help stymied users make better use of their systems in
being a "Linux troll" - then I plead guilty!

I have also, from time to time, corrected false statements by overzealous
MS users here - such as a recent one to the effect that if a Ubuntu
install failes to pick up the proper video driver it is necessary to
reinstall. That is quite simply false.

If correcting false accusations pointed at Linux distributions is being a
"Linux troll" - then I plead guilty!

It is quite simple; if you don't like Vista; F*CK OFF!
It IS quite simple. I use vista, and although "like" is maybe too far to
go in describing how I feel about it, I can quite ably work with it.
Enough said.

Occasionally would probably better describe the interaction. And the
occasional exchange hardly falls into a regular harassment category, imho.

Ray, it doesn't matter. You are labelled a troll unless you proclaim your
like/love for Vista, blindly defend it, and never write anything that might
even hint of any other OS being better than Vista.
