A good synth program,free of course..any musicmaker!!

Can anybody point me in the direction of a freeware music-maker type
program, or a synthesizer type prog....I would be gratefull to the point of

To be fair, there is a freeware version...though it's severely
crippled, as it will allow editing of only one track. The $19 expands
that to 8. Crippleware at best.

Yes, there is -KRISTAL Audio Engine:

I found the link to this in 'Australian PC World, June 2004'.

It's similar to the commercial Cubase SX

Kristal looks good, seeing the link reminded me of a truly excellent
freeware VST Synth called Crystal ( http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/ )

You'll need a fairly modern PC to get the most out of it as it's capable of
producing some quite complex processor gobbling sounds...Here's a link to
some free VST hosts, as one will be needed to run Crystal
