A Failed 32 bit Vista XP-Upgrade Install

Vista installed slowly but surely, seemed to be loading normally, then all I
had was my mouse pointer on a black screen with "Windows Vista Beta 2" at the
bottom right of the screen. I have an Nvidia 4600 series video card. I
tried safe mode and got the same result. I tried to recover booting the
install DVD and couldn't get it to load Windows XP or Windows 2003 drivers
for either of my two separate PCI Promise TX2 PATA hard drive controller
cards. I selected the recovery console from the Windows Vista boot screen,
successfully loaded the 2003 hard drive controller drivers, and both my old
XP and my Vista XP-upgrade install were discovered. By accessing and mapping
the Vista, I verified that all the drive letters are recognized and correct.
It sounds to me like it's a fundamental video driver problem. While I'm
waiting for a response, I'll be trying to install the latest Nvidia video
drivers in XP and then try the upgrade again.

I had seen that a few times during setup and it was normal tho I thought it
had hung up a few times but the hd-led was flashing showing it was doing
work....Just be patient and let it run....it seemed like it took forever!
