My uncle and I both have XP Home.
He has a bunch of folders appended with "_RTM$"
Example:
$NtUninstallQ328310_RTM$

We have both installed all the critical updates.

I do *NOT* have any folders like this...
And what is funny is the he has duplicates.

Example:
$NtUninstallQ328310$
$NtUninstallQ328310_RTM$

Any ideas???

This has been seen before. Not sure what causes these duplicate files to be
created, but they do not appear to cause any problems.
