I have 98se, and I installed xp-pro. ? can I uninstall
win98 keep all files. When I look to see what version I
have it still says win98 even though I have installed xp.
Have any suggestions. baffled.

Did you upgrade or install a second operating system?
(set-up a dual boot)
If you upgraded, you should be showing
Windows XP Professional
Build 2600, xpsp2.xxxxxxx (service pack 1)
or something similar.

Where are you checking to see what version you are running?

Click Start, select Run. Type in WINVER and press enter. This will tell you
what you are running.

If you are Right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties, you may be
seeing some OEM Pre-programmed information regarding what your PC came
pre-loaded with. If so, you can delete the OEMINFO.INI file located in your
\windows\system32 folder...

Are you sure its Windows XP and not Office XP (two totally
different products).
