9600 Pro brightness

Hello group,

I have a Sapphire ultimate (no fan) 9600 pro.
I run XP pro.
Every time I play a game, when I exit the game, the desktop is dark.
I go to the screen properties and to the "Color" tab and the screen
brightness goes back to normal (just by going to the Color tab).
Please tell me what I have done wrong.

Hmmm let me guess American Army OP? its a configuration that your card or its driver doesn't recover from. It really isn't a ATI
thing but bad code from the game itself...or should I say a line of code that doesn't agree with all setups.

I have this problem with "Soldier of Fortune 2", half-life, and "Hitman 2".
I have not tried other games.

I had the same prob with my old Ti4200 and that game.

its def AA problem
mine is different AA will crash and desktop will be bright as hell
then when i reboot and go back to playing initial screen has to be full
screened

well ok, I would look to see that the refresh rate for my monitor is set correctly

Thank you for your attention to my problem.
The monitor is Sony HMD-A200 (17").
I use 1024X768 resolution for desktop and all my games.
The refresh rate in desktop is set to 85, which is the only available
option under the "Monitor" tab with "Hide modes that this monitor cannot
display" selected.
I have tried the game both with and without ReForce and
the problem exists in both cases.

And there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it via the control panel
settings. Just have to change it every time after playing, for me at least.
