Can I say HELP??? Yeah...I guess I just did.
It all started with my installation of the IE7 beta,,,yes, I already know
that it wasn't a public beta and it's recommended not to put it on a
"production" machine. That ship has sailed, so consider me experientially
lectured!
So...IE7 was a bit of a frustration and I wanted to go back to IE6. I did
the uninstall from Add/Remove and I had IE6 back, but no toolbars worked
(tried Google and the new Windows Live). I couldn't find a way to reinstall
IE6 so I tried doing an in-place upgrade of XP. I only had a Windows XP w/
SP1 disk, but I figured I'd do the updates later so I installed it. That
worked and I started doing the updates. When it came to SP2, it has
continually failed to install. I've tried doing via the Microsoft Update
and even with a SP2 CD and it fails every time.
Does anyone have any clues on what I can try next? I'm stuck with an
unpatched system...
Thanks,
