6.1 Playback for MP3s in WMP 9

I have an audigy platinum card and whenever I playback
music in media player it only utilizes 2.1 Sound instead
of 5.1 or 6.1. Does anyone know how I can fix that?

i'm already going to guess that u already have your 5.1
speaker system hooked up. then goto your sound properties
and make sure that your system is set up for 5.1 audio.

Ordinary stereo music, by nature, is only 2 channel. With the Audigy series
of cards, find your CMSS setting and turn it on. On the Audigy 2, if that's
what you have, you will get no sound out the rear surrounds unless you use
CMSS. With the Audigy 2, you can set the focus of the sound. I recommend
setting the focus to center, between front and rear. The Audigy 1 will give
you only "on" or "off" as a choice but will give you more center sound thatn
the audigy 2 will.

Even after adjusting the CMSS Settings I still don't get
any sound from my center rear? Also, thanks for the help.

Im set for 5.1 but that doesn't enable my center rear
speaker. any further nfo? Thnx
